Access Home Staging of Ottawa, has just introduced our new seasonal decor service and I thought it might be fun to help you determine what your current Christmas style is. I’m pretty sure we all have a box, or ten, of Christmas decor. In this collection of decorations there are some we hold dear to our hearts while others we’re less attached to. Some of the decorations might have suited our style a few years ago but may seem a little out-of-tune with our home now. Over the next several blog posts I’ll show you the elements of what I believe to be the main decor styles for Christmas decor; classic red and white, the totally white decor, traditional, glamorous, rustic, modern, vintage and coastal.
When planning your holiday decor, it is important to keep in mind the style of your home; a glamorous table setting with mirrors, glass, sparkle, glitter and white metals won’t look at home if you have a rustic, farmhouse decor. Just as jarring would be a traditional Christmas decor with heavy gold, burgundy, green lush velvet and formal gold-leafed fruit topiary in a modern, minimalist apartment.
I’ve browsed the web and found some pictures of what I consider to be the main decor styles for Christmas.
The first style is classic red and white. This colour combo is always fresh and fun and often includes a great deal of natural greens and even small hits of a third colour like green, blue or turquoise. Could this be your Christmas style?
