What’s your Christmas Style? Coastal

Not everyone lives near the coast but that doesn’t mean you can’t use a coastal style for your holiday decor. Typical elements of this style are the use of blues with white and shells such as starfish and sand-dollars. You may also see the addition of small boats, life-preservers, fish net and even some small, faux fish.

I will admit, we don’t often see this style here in Ottawa, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add elements of this style to your holiday decor. Try adding sand to your apothecary jars before adding a pale blue candle and shells you’ve collected from beaches. Look for some bows made of fishnet, spray paint some toy boats in coastal colours, the possibilities are endless!

So, could this be the style that speaks to you? Are there elements of this style you’d like to incorporate into your holiday decor, or are you still uncertain of which style you love or even if you have a style? Stay tuned, there is more to come.
